Doctrinal Statement

  • We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, infallible Word of God.  It is God’s record of His revelation to mankind, and as such, it is our only and final authority for all matters of faith, doctrine, philosophy, history, prophecy, and all other subjects found in its pages.
  • We believe in one living, personal God who exists as a spirit.  God eternally exists in three persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), yet His divine nature is undivided and indivisible.  The three persons of the Trinity are co-equal and co-eternal.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ in the flesh was both God and man.  He was supernaturally conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a perfectly sinless life, then shed His blood on Calvary’s cross for the atonement of the sins of mankind.  Christ was buried and bodily arose from the dead, then ascended to Heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of the Father where He is head of the church and intercedes for believers.
  • We believe in the imminent, pre-tribulation, pre-millennial return of Christ.
  • We believe in the fall of man and the subsequent depravity and sinfulness of the human race.  Man has no desire and no ability to choose God over self.  Thus, all men stand guilty before a righteous and holy God and are doomed to face eternal punishment in the lake of fire.
  • We believe that God, because of His great love, made salvation available to all men by the shed blood of His Son, Jesus Christ, Who died upon the cross as the vicarious sacrifice for lost sinners.  Salvation is a free gift offered to all men, but received only by those who repent and turn to Christ in personal faith apart from good works or sacraments.  We believe in a literal Heaven, prepared by God for His saints.
  • We believe that every believer is kept eternally by the power of God and is eternally secure in Christ.  The true believer cannot lose his salvation, but sin may interrupt his fellowship with and bring the loving discipline of his Heavenly Father.
  • We believe that the Church is a New Testament institution comprised of a company of born-again believers in Christ.  The Church was formed during the earthly ministry of Christ, empowered at Pentecost, and is divinely appointed of God during this age to perform the work of evangelizing a lost world.
  • We believe that Christ instituted only two ordinances for the local church – Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
